New Wave Brasserie

I had a wonderful experience at New Wave Brasserie. The sardines were absolutely delicious — fresh, perfectly seasoned, and full of flavor. The hot seafood platter was equally impressive, a generous selection cooked beautifully and full of taste. On top of the great food, the staff were so welcoming and attentive, which really added to the overall experience. A fantastic spot that I’d happily recommend and return to!

We were staying in a cottage in Lechlade and this came highly recommended. It was fantastic for great seafood. Service was warm, professional and attentive. We dined with 2 young children and they loved it. The restaurant is quite small so limited capacity, so be sure to book in advance!

We had lunch here yesterday and it was a sublime experience. The taste and quality of the food was outstanding. Additional bonus was the beautiful presentation. The taramasalata with crispy fish skins was a revelation, absolutely delicious. Fish pie was rich and decadent, unusual that it was not solely in a cream or milk sauce, but a very rich fish based sauce full of flavour, and my partner’s sole the best he has ever eaten and it is his favourite. Service was very professional and prompt. At first the prices look high but the food is definitely worth it. It is worth noting that you don’t find out until they bring the bill that the menu price includes a 10% service charge which you can decline if you want. I would suggest they change this practice and make the prices seem lower on the menu and just add the service charge at the end. We will definitely be back and I agree with one of the other review writers that it is probably the best fish restaurant in the UK.

The photos may not do it full justice, but this is without doubt the best seafood in England – fresh, fragrant, and prepared with herbs and love. The desserts are also outstanding, with perfect texture and a beautiful balance of flavors.

Absolutely perfect. The atmosphere, the food, the staff and the setting itself. Sat outside as we didn’t book far in advance but that didn’t deter us even in autumn. They had blankets ready for us and we almost had the whole outdoor area to ourselves. I had the soup for starter which was so flavourful. Shared some oysters with a platter for mains. Couldn’t fault anything, everything was great. Thank you for a lovely night.

My partner and I had a gorgeous experience for our anniversary dinner at the New Wave yesterday evening. We had starters, mains, desserts and lots of drinks and loved every bit of it. Our evening was made particularly special by the lovely Jessica and another young waitress (apologies I can’t remember her name). Thanks for being so attentive and friendly 10/10 would recommend if you’re looking for quality seafood and great vibes!
